Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks a senior Project Manager/Engineer to manage engineering and administrative policy at the project level. You will lead staff, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate information flow among designers, Owners, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include budgeting with Preconstruction, evaluating drawings for constructability, and managing change orders through close-out, leveraging BIM/Lean to optimize project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus minimum of eight years' related experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and cost control procedures.
• Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, various building systems.
• Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
• Knowledge of Turner's Project Management and scheduling software desirable.
• Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) and Lean to benefit the project.
• Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means and methods.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of contract documents and applicable codes.
• Lead, supervise and develop engineering staff with performance appraisals.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate information flow among project team members.
• Establish procedures with design professionals, owner and subcontractors for information flow and approvals.
• Develop GMP or initial project budget with Preconstruction/Estimating.
• Review construction documents for constructability and QA/QC.
• Prepare procurement schedules for subcontractors and major purchases.
• Manage project financial status and prepare status reports.
• Schedule and document owner/architect meetings and coordination meetings.
• Manage subcontract change orders and project close-out.
