Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a project-focused engineer to support the project team on a range of complex projects. You will act as a lead technical resource on smaller projects, collaborating with management to monitor timelines and budgets.

You will interpret plans, assemble submittal packages, procure equipment and services, and assist in selecting subcontractors while addressing complex issues that arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• In-depth knowledge of systems design (HVAC, plumbing) and general system operations.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with management and stakeholders and keeps them informed on project timeline and budget.
• Manages change orders; expedites material and estimates impact of changes.
• Provides interpretation of plans and specifications.
• Assembles submittal packages and project documentation.
