Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a project-support role to assist the project team on multiple complex projects. You will lead as a technical resource on smaller projects, collaborating with management and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The role involves handling change orders, expediting materials, interpreting plans, assembling submittals, and assisting in procurement and subcontractor selection, requiring a Bachelor’s in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in engineering/project roles.
• In-depth knowledge of systems design (HVAC, plumbing) and operations.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including CAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management and stakeholders and inform on issues affecting timeline and budget.
• Manage change orders and ensure they are completed and tracked.
• Expedite materials and estimate impact of changes.
• Interpret plans and specifications for projects.
• Assemble submittal packages and project documentation.
• Procure equipment, materials, services and assist in subcontractor selection.
