Job summary

Southland Industries in Texas seeks a Project Engineer to support the project team on multiple complex projects, acting as a lead technical resource on smaller projects and collaborating with management to keep stakeholders informed on timeline and budget.

You will analyze changes, assemble submittals, procure equipment and services, read plans, and work with subcontractors, with strong communication and CAD/MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with CAD and MS Office (Excel).

Responsibilities

• Supports the project team on multiple projects as a lead technical resource.
• Collaborates with management and stakeholders and informs on timeline and budget.
• Manages change orders and tracks them; expedites materials as needed.
• Assembles complete submittal packages and required project documentation.
• Procures equipment, materials and services; assists in subcontractor selection.
• Analyzes and resolves complex questions and problems as needed.
