Job summary

Southland Industries is a leading MEP firm delivering engineering, procurement, and construction services. This role supports project teams on smaller, less complex projects, helping estimate impacts of changes and manage change orders.

Responsibilities include procuring equipment and services, participating in subcontractor selections, and staying current on industry trends. Strong reading of mechanical and plumbing drawings and basic CAD/Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Basic ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing design.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including CADD and Microsoft Office, such as Excel.

Responsibilities

• Estimates the impact of project changes and provides information to applicable management.
• Manages change orders. Ensures they are completed accurately and tracked as required.
• Procures equipment and materials and services; and participates in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Stays current on emerging trends.
• Analyzes and resolves basic questions and problems as needed.
