Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Programmer Analyst III to lead a team of programmer/analysts on large enterprise projects for client departments. You will plan, administer, operate, and evaluate new and existing systems, and guide modifications to improve performance and business outcomes.

This role requires strong technical leadership, collaboration with IT service delivery teams, and the ability to deliver solutions in a context of city government.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, math, computer science, IT-related fields.
• Four years’ experience in OO programming and relational databases (Java, MS SQL, SQL Server, Oracle PC SQL, Python, UML, C/C++).
• Strong knowledge of multiple programming languages and IT service management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of programmer/analysts on large projects and applications for client departments.
• Plan, administer, operate, program, and evaluate new and existing systems and modifications.
• Coordinate with IT service delivery teams to manage incidents, changes, and releases.
• Develop, test, and document software; support business processes and reporting requirements.
• Review code, mentor junior staff, and ensure City standards and performance goals are met.
• Prepare and analyze complex ad-hoc reports and support various business needs.
