Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Senior Systems Programmer to provide senior level leadership for software system programming, testing, and administration across enterprise systems. You will ensure operating systems and subsystems run reliably to meet availability, response time, and business needs for user departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Science, Math or Business.
• 4 years of administration and programming experience in Microsoft Windows environment.

Responsibilities

• Administers software and systems with senior level expertise and leadership to support, troubleshoot, and implement solutions.
• Coordinate and perform upgrades and changes toOperating systems; lead lower-level programmers.
• Install releases, upgrades, fixes, and write system-level programs under direction.
• Develop complex program changes for systems-level programs and document standards.
• Investigate new technologies and plan major upgrades or conversions.
• Administer and monitor email systems, mobile devices, and related services.
• Create performance measures and contribute to procurement bid documents.
• Ensure deliverables meet specifications; document changes and maintain traceability.
• Update systems documentation and enforce policies.
• Perform other duties as needed.
