City of Dallas is seeking a Senior Systems Programmer to provide senior-level support for Email, LAN, and Mainframe systems. The role ensures availability, response time, reliability, and user-department needs are met across the City’s enterprise systems.

You will lead programming, documentation, implementation, monitoring, and testing of processes, upgrading operating systems, and maintaining system performance. This position requires strong knowledge of mainframe and Windows environments.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer-related field.
• Four (4) years of administration and programming experience in Microsoft Windows environment.
• Equivalencies accepted as listed in the posting.

Responsabilidades

• Administers software applications and systems with senior-level leadership to ensure support and implementation of effective software solutions.
• Coordinates upgrades and changes to operating systems and system programming areas to ensure optimal utilization.
• Installs releases, upgrades, and fixes and writes system-level programs under direction of senior programmers.
• Develops and documents standards and policies for computer resources and storage interfaces.
• Investigates new technologies and assists in major upgrades or conversions.
• Administers and monitors systems, handles email systems, device support, and admin tasks across the City’s infrastructure.
• Creates performance measures and assists in procurement bid preparations.
• Ensures deliverables meet specifications and updates system documentation accordingly.
