Aerotek is seeking a Production Lead – Cleanroom for the 3rd shift in Timonium, MD. This contract-to-hire role requires strong leadership, GMP compliance, and precise assembly in a cleanroom environment.
You will oversee a small team, operate and maintain assembly equipment, and ensure documentation meets quality standards. The position is fully onsite and pays $25.00–$26.00/hr with benefits and potential for conversion.
Provide clear leadership and direction to the cleanroom production team on 3rd shift, ensuring smooth operations with minimal supervision.
Proficiently operate and maintain small production equipment in a safe manner to consistently produce high-quality products.
Perform small component assembly under a microscope, including light soldering, with strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Carry out component assembly, inspection, and related production duties in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
Meet all documentation requirements of the production process, including filing paperwork and maintaining accurate records for assemblies and products.
Maintain a clean, organized work environment in the production and cleanroom areas, following all GMP and cleanroom protocols.
For spherz products, become proficient in all production processes, including forming, cutting, punching, assembly, packaging, and sealing.
Complete all production processes in alignment with established documentation requirements and GMP standards.
Inspect, evaluate, and accept products in accordance with documented QA standards and procedures, identifying and addressing nonconformities.
Work with robotics and other production machinery in the cleanroom to support efficient and accurate manufacturing.
Read and interpret blueprints and production documentation to ensure correct assembly and product configuration.
Support and guide team members by modeling strong work ethic, reliability, and adherence to procedures, helping maintain a cohesive and productive team dynamic.
Work independently and proactively during 3rd shift, ensuring production continues effectively without direct on-site supervision.
Collaborate with other departments as needed when new products, processes, or tasks are introduced, supporting cross‑training and process improvements.
Proven experience as a production lead or similar leadership role in a production, machine operator, assembler, or general manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a GMP-regulated environment or similar highly regulated setting.
Strong documentation skills, including filing paperwork, maintaining production records, and meeting all process documentation requirements.
Excellent attention to detail, especially when working with small components and performing fine assembly tasks under a microscope.
Manual and hand dexterity suitable for small component assembly, light soldering, and precise handling of medical device parts.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed work instructions accurately.
Experience with component assembly, including forming, cutting, punching, packaging, and sealing processes.
Familiarity with operating production equipment, packaging machinery, and cleanroom machinery, including robotics.
Comfort working in a cleanroom environment and willingness to adhere strictly to GMP and cleanroom regulations.
Capability to work independently on 3rd shift and remain productive and self‑directed without constant supervision.

Familiarity with IPC and J-STD standards related to soldering and electronic or electromechanical assembly.
Experience using microscopes for small component assembly and inspection.
Experience in deburring, precision finishing, or similar fine-detail manufacturing tasks.
Exposure to radiation cages, surgical needles, or other specialized medical device products.
Comfort working with production equipment and machinery in a cleanroom environment.
Ability to quickly learn new tasks and processes as new product lines and equipment are introduced.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to integrate smoothly into a close-knit team.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Timonium, MD 21093.
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
