Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that components, printed materials, and finished goods meet all specifications and quality standards in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role performs detailed inspections, maintains accurate documentation in compliance with cGMP and GDP, and collaborates closely with warehouse and manufacturing teams to support efficient production and material flow.

Responsibilities
  • Perform documentation activities in strict adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Inspect various components and finished goods to verify conformance to part specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Use measurement tools and instruments such as calipers, scales, thickness gauges, force gauges, optical comparators, and other inspection systems to perform accurate measurements.
  • Conduct inspection of printed materials against master documents to identify any differences or discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse and manufacturing personnel regarding the release, status, and movement of materials and components.
  • Maintain the general upkeep, organization, and cleanliness of the Incoming Quality Assurance (IQA) Inspection Area.
  • File, copy, and organize records to support proper record retention and traceability requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain IQA office inventory at appropriate levels to ensure continuous inspection operations.
  • Support production and assembly line activities by providing quality-related oversight and feedback as needed.
  • Perform inspection, packing, and picking tasks associated with quality control of products when required.
  • Work in cleanroom environments and follow all gowning and cleanliness requirements where applicable.
  • Follow directions from leadership, adapt to changing priorities, and complete other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow proper documentation practices with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently while remaining adaptable in an ever-changing environment.
  • Capability to use computers and work within multiple systems to enter, review, and manage quality records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • High level of personal integrity and self-control in handling quality-critical tasks.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 60 pounds and remain mobile throughout a large manufacturing plant.
  • Strong attention to detail in inspecting components, printed materials, and finished goods.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and be on their feet during shifts.
  • Good hand dexterity for handling small parts and performing precise inspection tasks.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple inspection and documentation activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
  • Comfort with receiving direction and constructive feedback to continuously improve performance.
  • Experience or familiarity with inspection tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Understanding of production, assembly, and cleanroom practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality principles and inspection processes in a regulated production setting.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.20 - $27.20/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
