Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our Waukegan, IL team on a contract-to-hire basis. You will assemble, test, and calibrate precision laboratory equipment in a clean, climate-controlled facility.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, using hand and power tools, inspecting units, and helping train teammates while maintaining safety and quality standards. First shift, fully onsite with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
  • Stable work history and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift and read basic English.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools to build and install components, assemblies, and subassemblies.
  • Test, inspect, and troubleshoot completed units to ensure proper functionality.
  • Make adjustments and calibrations as needed to meet customer requirements.
  • Perform visual quality inspections and identify defects or assembly issues.
  • Gather materials and components needed for production builds.
  • Prepare equipment and materials for packaging and shipment.
  • Support production schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
  • Assist with training team members and sharing assembly knowledge.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Assembly Technician

We're looking for an experienced Assembly Technician to join our team assembling and testing precision laboratory equipment. What You'll Do
  • Assemble electromechanical equipment and laboratory machines according to specifications and quality standards

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukegan, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
