Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing assembly experience.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and prints.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to stand for long shifts and lift heavy items.
  • Experience with HVAC or large mechanical equipment is a plus.

Job Title: Assembler Job Description

The Assembler will work on a new production line, preparing bases and installing components for large HVAC units. This role involves performing semi-repetitive tasks with variations at a designated workstation, using hand and power tools, reading basic blueprints, and working with larger assemblies that may require cranes, hoists, or ladders. The position is physically demanding and requires standing for most of the shift while completing mechanical and electrical assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble base preparations and install components for a new production line according to production specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform semi-repetitive assembly tasks at a workstation while adapting to variations in parts and processes.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and prints to ensure accurate assembly of large HVAC units.
  • Handle large and heavy assemblies, using cranes, hoists, manipulators, and ladders as needed to move and position units safely.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools, including power drills, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly tasks, including fitting, fastening, and securing components.
  • Assist with electrical-related tasks such as basic wiring and connections as directed.
  • Follow established manufacturing processes and procedures, including any applicable GMP or production standards.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on assembly issues and work to resolve mechanical or electrical problems within the scope of the role.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Stand for the majority of the shift and perform heavy lifting as required to assemble large HVAC units.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain consistent product quality.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in an assembly or production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly of components and units.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools, including power drills, safely and effectively.
  • Basic blueprint and print reading skills to follow assembly instructions.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production workflows.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and work with larger units using cranes, hoists, and ladders.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts related to assembly.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical assembly issues.
  • Comfort with semi-repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Capability to stand for the majority of the shift and perform physically demanding tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience assembling HVAC units or similar large mechanical equipment.
  • Exposure to GMP or other standardized manufacturing practices.
  • Experience with installation work in a production or industrial setting.
  • Basic wiring experience or familiarity with electrical connections.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment

This is a first-shift position with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work takes place on a production line assembling large HVAC units in a manufacturing facility. The role requires standing for most of the shift, performing heavy lifting, and working with larger units using cranes, hoists, manipulators, and ladders. You regularly use hand tools and power tools, including power drills, while following established manufacturing processes and safety protocols. The environment is structured, process-driven, and focused on efficient, safe production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 – $20.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
