Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our Plant Engineering division in Houston, TX or Chicago/Lisle, IL. The role leads process engineering for a major oil product storage terminal project, defining overall process design and operating philosophy while coordinating with project management and other engineering disciplines.

Requires an MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, a Texas PE license, and 12+ years of relevant experience in oil/gas terminals.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; bachelor’s degree plus experience may count in lieu of a master.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
• Experience as a Lead Process Engineer coordinating multi-disciplinary activities.
• Experience designing oil product storage terminals, tank farms, or similar facilities.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumping, and product transfer operations.
• Experience with PFDs, P&IDs, and process calculations.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead process engineer for a major oil product storage terminal project.
• Define and develop overall process design and operating philosophy.
• Coordinate with project management and other engineering disciplines to ensure safe, reliable operations.
• Define design basis, criteria, and operating cases; review calculations and datasheets.
• Develop and review terminal transfer and distribution hydraulic models.
• Define tank farms, pumps, manifolds, and loading/unloading systems.
