Job summary

RINA is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for our Houston, TX or Chicago/Lisle, IL office within the Plant Engineering Division. The role leads process engineering for a major oil product storage terminal project, defining the overall process design and operating philosophy while providing technical leadership to the process engineering team and coordinating with project management and other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Process Engineering, preferably within oil & gas, terminals, or energy infrastructure.
• Proven experience as Lead/Senior Process Engineer coordinating discipline activities.
• Experience with design of oil product storage terminals, tank farms, or similar facilities.
• Strong knowledge of liquid storage, pumping, hydraulic systems, and transfer operations.
• Experience with process simulations and hydraulic calculations (Aspen HYSYS or equivalent).
• Participation in HAZID/HAZOP and design reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead Process Engineering activities as the technical lead for the project.
• Plan and oversee discipline activities and deliverables.
• Define design basis, criteria, operating philosophy, and facility process requirements.
• Coordinate and review engineers’ work and ensure quality deliverables.
• Interface with piping, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
