Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Consultant, Ports and Marine Engineering to join our National Maritime Practice Group. This role can be based in Irvine, San Diego, Miami, Tampa, Raleigh, or Houston, offering front-line leadership on port and marine projects.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, produce design deliverables, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients and regulators to deliver safe, compliant infrastructure. PE licensure and 7–10 years marine experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 7–10 years of marine project experience with design for ports and marine structures.
• Proficiency in SAP2000 or equivalent FEM software; design of reinforced/prestressed concrete and steel components.
• Experience with AutoCAD, REVIT and BIM tools.
• Experience in ports/marine construction and multidisciplinary team leadership.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering tasks by collecting and analyzing site data and reports.
• Develop construction plans, schedules, specs, and cost estimates for ports and marine projects.
• Manage cross-functional teams on mid-size projects; track budgets and PS&E milestones.
• Prepare technical reports using calculations, spreadsheets, drawings, and FEM tools.
• Provide high-level technical guidance on marine structural analysis and design.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, staffing, and schedules.
• Present findings to team and clients.
• Engage with regulatory agencies, clients, and subcontractors.
• Uphold safety and code of conduct; complete trainings.
• Travel as required; adapt to project schedules.
