Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Consultant, Ports and Marine Engineering to join our National Maritime Practice Group. This role can be based in Irvine, CA (and other listed offices) and focuses on leading design, construction, and inspection of port and marine facilities.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, develop schedules and cost estimates, supervise PS&E submissions, and prepare technical reports and presentations using SAP2000, AutoCAD, REVIT, and other BIM tools.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required; PE licensure preferred.
• 7–10 years of marine project design experience, including rehabilitation and new design.
• Proficiency with SAP2000 or similar FEM software; design of reinforced/prestressed concrete and steel components.
• Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT; familiarity with BIM tools.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating design/documents to standards.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for project needs and site assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for engineering tasks: data collection, analysis, and reporting from site and surveys.
• Lead development of construction plans, schedules, specs, and cost estimates for ports/marine projects; coordinate site safety plans.
• Manage cross-functional teams; support PS&E submissions and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations using SAP2000, BIM tools, and related software.
• Mentor staff engineers and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate with agencies, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
