Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Consultant, Ports and Marine Engineering to join our National Maritime Practice Group. This role can be based out of Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco-CA, Miami-FL, Portland-OR, Seattle-WA, or other listed offices.

You will lead design teams for port and marine projects, develop construction plans, write technical reports, and coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies. A strong civil/ Marine background with ABET accreditation and 5–7 years of related experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in engineering discipline with marine project-specific design experience (including rehabilitation and new design).
• EIT or similar certification/licensure.
• Demonstrated ability in analysis and design of marine related projects including proficiency in SAP2000 and/or equivalent FEM software; design and detailing of reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel components per ACI, AISC, PCI, and/or AASHTO.
• Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and REVIT and other BIM tools.
• Demonstrate construction experience in ports and marine related projects.
• Understanding of multidisciplinary team coordination and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for engineering tasks, data collection, and analysis for project development, design, and construction.
• Lead development of construction plans, schedules, specifications, and cost estimates for ports and marine projects; prepare site safety activity plans.
• Lead cross-functional teams to execute projects, track budgets and milestones, and support Plans, Specifications and Estimates submissions.
• Write technical reports and generate documentation using sketches, calculations, spreadsheets, drawings, and engineering software.
• Create FE models for fixed and floating marine structures under various loads and conditions.
• Prepare design documentation for steel and concrete components and foundation systems.
• Prepare task budgets and schedules; present findings to teams and clients.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
