Job summary

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA seeks a Lead Pool Attendant to elevate guest experiences by directing the Pool Attendant team, booking cabanas, and ensuring impeccable area cleanliness. You will coach staff, coordinate cabana schedules (OpenTable familiarity), maintain amenity programs, and liaise with partner departments to uphold The Irvine Company's high standards.

Requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year in pool operations with strong communication and guest service

• 1 year of Pool Attendant/Ambassador experience or pool operation.
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Pool Attendant team, assign floor plans and functions, ensure breaks and lunches.
• Maintain cabana cleanliness according to SOPs.
• Assist in booking cabanas, retrieve cabanas from OpenTable.
• Coordinate amenity program by scheduling times and updating weekly chart.
• Communicate with partnering departments and leadership team.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Lead Pool Attendant provides superior customer service by creating a welcoming environment for guests visiting the pool. They perform a variety of tasks including booking and scheduling cabanas, maintaining the cleanliness of the area, and directing the Pool Attendant team. Maintain a professional appearance while projecting an image of friendliness and willingness to provide personalized services to guests. Must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of the company.

• Direct the Pool Attendant team accordingly, including assigning designated floor plan and job function, ensuring all Pool Attendants take their breaks and lunches accordingly, training new Pool Attendants, and coaching them accordingly
• Maintain cabana cleanliness according to current SOPs
• Assist in booking cabanas, including retrieving cabanas from OpenTable
• Designate and coordinate amenity program by assigning times and assignments to the Pool Attendants; ensuring the weekly amenity chart is updated accordingly
• Ensure applicable communications with partnering departments and the leadership team
• Other jobs/duties/projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent certification
• 1 Year of Pool Attendant/Ambassador Experience or Experience In A Pool Operation
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the guests
