Job summary

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA, is seeking an Engineer IV to oversee preventative maintenance of guest rooms and public spaces.

You will perform repairs, maintain systems, and keep logs, ensuring safety and high-quality service for guests.

• Notify management of accidents, emergencies, or power issues.
• Maintain respectful relations with staff and guests.
• Follow hotel emergency procedures.

The Engineer IV is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and completing work orders related to guest rooms and public areas. They must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of the company.

• Maintain and re-lamp all lamps in the resort, including socket repair and placement.
• Perform repairs as requested, including changing light bulbs, plumbing stoppages, television adjustments and minor electrical repairs.
• Main a clean, neat, organized and safe work area.
• Project an image of friendliness, professionalism and willingness to provide personalized services to guests.
• Respond to guest concerns regarding the maintenance of their room or public area in a timely manner.
• Understand and follow all safety rules and precautions when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies.
• Provide assistance for all plumbing stoppages in the resort.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance on any and all equipment as needed and/or requested.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs reflecting all work completed on shift.
• Notify management staff of accidents, safety concerns, emergency repairs, fires, power failures or other maintenance related situations.
• Maintain a respectful working relationship with management staff and other employees.
• Follow all procedures when responding to any hotel emergency or safety situation.

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:

• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a resort/hotel environment.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to work with management staff and other employees in a professional manner.
