Job summary

gpac is seeking an Experienced Estimator for a leading commercial mechanical construction firm in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on detailed takeoffs, pricing for plumbing and mechanical systems, and coordinating with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive bids.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, strong reading of blueprints, Excel proficiency, and a plumbing or HVAC license preferred. On-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial estimating experience in plumbing or HVAC.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and construction docs.
• Proficiency in Excel and estimating software; vendor negotiations experience helpful.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills during scope reviews.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed takeoffs and pricing for commercial plumbing and mechanical projects.
• Obtain, review, and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with the VP of Estimating to develop and maintain estimating databases and spreadsheets.
• Help transition projects from estimating to project management.
• Lead and finalize estimates, including preparing scope letters.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and internal team.
