Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator for a leading commercial mechanical construction firm in Gilbert, AZ. The role focuses on detailed takeoffs, price development, and subcontractor/vendor negotiation for major projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial plumbing/HVAC estimating, blueprints proficiency, and Excel/estimating software skills. This full-time role offers competitive benefits and opportunities to contribute to impactful projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial plumbing/HVAC estimating experience.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, specifications and construction documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software; Estimation and/or Quicken experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for scope reviews and vendor negotiations.
• Journeyman Plumber or HVAC license, or equivalent experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed job takeoffs and pricing for commercial plumbing and mechanical projects.
• Obtain, review, and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with the VP of Estimating to maintain estimating databases and spreadsheets.
• Ensure a smooth transition of projects from estimating to project management.
• Lead and finalize estimates, including preparing clear and professional scope letters.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
