Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• 8+ years of full stack software engineering experience, with leadership in platform reliability or production operations
• Strong experience with Java, Python, Node.js, or TypeScript
• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end-to-end)
• Strong observability practice knowledge (logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring)
• Experience designing reliability patterns for distributed systems
• Ability to lead a small engineering pod and manage contractor resources
• Experience operating cloud-native apps on Kubernetes and container platforms
• Clear communication of risks and tradeoffs to technical leaders

Responsibilities

• Own delivery for platform scale and reliability pods, including planning and quality
• Ensure uptime, performance, resilience, and operational excellence across services
• Develop automated testing frameworks and quality gates
• Contribute production code and tooling for reliability and observability
• Define logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and monitoring strategy
• Define patterns for fault tolerance, retries, and failure recovery
• Lead scalability initiatives as usage grows
• Set production readiness criteria and handoff standards
• Mentor engineers and review code
• Collaborate with decisioning, orchestration, activation, platform, and data teams
