Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a Lead Full Stack Engineer to architect and deliver the NBA platform's real-time decisioning. You will own reliability, observability, and production readiness across Java, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript, while mentoring a small team of engineers.

This hybrid role, preferred near Boston, MA, requires coordinating with platform, data, and product teams to ensure scalable, auditable, and compliant operations in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full stack software engineering experience with leadership exposure.
• Experience building production software across Java, Python, Node.js, or TypeScript.
• Hands-on in automated testing frameworks and quality automation.
• Strong observability, logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring expertise.
• Proven ability to lead a small engineering pod and manage contractors.
• Cloud-native apps experience on Kubernetes and container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own platform scale, reliability, and production readiness across NBA platform.
• Lead automated testing, observability, and reliability engineering efforts.
• Contribute production code and build reliability tooling and tooling.
• Define release readiness criteria and quality gates for production ownership.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate across decisioning, orchestration, activation, platform, and data teams.
