Job summary

The City of Fresno is seeking a Supervising Plans Examiner to lead staff responsible for enforcing fire, life/safety, accessibility, and structural standards for building projects within the City of Fresno.

Applicants must meet the stated qualifications, including four years as Plans Examiner III or a related bachelor’s degree plus two years of lead experience, and must upload transcripts. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years experience equivalent to Plans Examiner III with the City of Fresno.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible lead experience.
• A copy of degree transcripts must be uploaded and included in your online application for verification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff engaged in plan review and code enforcement.
• Oversee enforcement of fire, life/safety, and accessibility standards.
• Coordinate with building, engineering, and inspection teams.
