Job summary

The City of Fresno is seeking a Senior Engineering Inspector in the Capital Development Department to supervise inspections and lead contract administration for complex municipal capital projects. The role reviews plans for engineering soundness and provides expert inspection services to contractors and property owners, ensuring compliance with standards.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications including a high school diploma or GED and three years of related experience, plus a valid CA

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years of experience in engineering inspection or contract administration of public works construction projects.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License at time of appointment.

Responsibilities

Supervise subordinates in performing inspections and contract administration for complex municipal capital improvement projects.
Reviews plans and specifications for engineering soundness and conformance to established standards.
Provides consulting and inspection services to contractors, engineers, and property owners on methods of complying with construction standards.
