Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Lead/Float Phlebotomist to support multiple Patient Service Centers. You will cover for PTO, absences, and new centers, helping reduce patient wait times while gaining exposure to a variety of patients and teams.

In this role you will perform phlebotomy, enter demographic and order data into the BIS system, prepare specimens for transport, and assist in training PSC staff. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or similar preferred.
• Experience in lab Patient Service Centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate and/or enter patient demographics and orders into the BIS system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the BIS laboratory.
• Perform administrative duties to open/close the PSC daily.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor sites as needed.
