Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking Patient Service Center Float Phlebotomists to support multiple PSCs across the system. You will help cover PTO, absences, and a range of needs to reduce patient wait times and enable new PSC openings.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a phlebotomy certificate preferred, and 1–3 years of related experience. Strong computer skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Registration Phlebotomy Certificate preferred, and 1–3 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Maintains adequate staffing levels and efficient, effective workflow and scheduling.
• Provides training to phlebotomists to ensure competency.
• Provides data input for the payroll system in the absence of Supervisor and Phlebotomy Leaders.
• Acts as a technical resource for all difficult Phlebotomy blood draws for the institution.
• Ensures rounds are completed as scheduled and provides assistance to maintain timelines of routine and STAT blood draws.
• Communicates lab issues and problems to Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Manager and recommends resolution.
• On a daily basis, interacts and communicates with customers including patients, site office manager, physicians, and medical assistants.
• Shares on-call duties.
• Provides input for performance appraisals.
• Ensures 24/7 coverage for Inpatient Rounds.
