Job summary

Torc Robotics seeks an experienced software engineer to advance perception, tracking, and sensor fusion for autonomous trucks. You will design and deploy production ML models, build scalable training pipelines, and work across teams to deliver reliable, real-world autonomous driving capabilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience or 3+ with a Master’s or 1+ with a PhD.
• Experience with AV or robotics perception systems (tracking, detection, SLAM).
• Proficiency with PyTorch and ML tooling for training, inference, optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production ML models for multi-object tracking and sensor fusion.
• Develop scalable training and evaluation workflows using PyTorch and large real-world datasets.
• Design and improve tracking and sensor fusion algorithms for robust pose and kinematics.
• Analyze large-scale vehicle data to characterize performance and drive model improvements.
• Develop robust production software in C++ and Python across the full lifecycle.
• Define evaluation, verification, and validation strategies for tracking quality and safety.
• Make technical design and architecture decisions balancing performance and production constraints.
• Collaborate with perception, mapping, planning, controls, and platform teams.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews and mentoring.
