Intuit's Payroll Tax Operations (PTO) seeks a Lead Tax Processor and Subject Matter Expert (Level X5) to drive complex tax resolutions, own SOPs, and coach the team. You will serve as the primary resource for TP1–TP3 staff and oversee critical escalations with governance over procedures.

This remote role offers 20–40 hours per week with overtime eligibility, focusing on compliance, workflow improvements, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic payroll tax team.

Qualificações

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with complex tax defect resolution, notice response, and multi-state filings.
• Lead/senior SME with coaching, mentoring, or training junior staff through nuanced resolution scenarios.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax regulations across all jurisdictions, including local taxes and state programs.
• Advanced writing skills for SOPs and technical documents for a tax processor audience.
• Ownership of SLAs and ability to identify/red-flag workflow barriers.
• Validation-first mindset; propose solutions and technical alternatives to leadership.
• 5+ years handling highly sensitive escalations with minimal leadership guidance.
• 4+ years in contact center or back-office operations for high-volume service needs.
• Comfort with leveraging AI tools to improve daily tasks and workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary real-time technical expert for TP1, TP2, and TP3 staff, teaching resolution paths to build team capability.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles across core operations.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions using the SBIC model to close skill gaps.
• Lead or support team huddles, QA sessions, and daily stand-ups as backup facilitator.
• Oversee WIP management, backlog reduction, and aging reports to inform staffing decisions.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices, including IRS/state audit inquiries across jurisdictions.
• Approve complex amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State returns with audit trails.
• Identify trends and risks; communicate with data-driven recommendations to leadership.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings while upholding compliance and risk controls.
