Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Lead Tax Processor in Columbus, OH to own and resolve the most complex payroll tax escalations. You will govern SOPs, coach the team, and drive processes to improve accuracy and speed across TP1–TP3 operations.

The role requires multi-state tax knowledge, strong writing skills, and leadership in a fast-paced, remote-ready payroll environment. The position entitles overtime eligibility and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with complex defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Lead/senior SME experience with coaching/mentoring staff on difficult resolutions.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax regs, incl. local taxes (e.g., PA, OH) and state programs.
• Advanced writing skills to author/approve SOPs and technical docs for tax staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary real-time technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff and teach resolution paths to build team capability.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles across core ops.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions using SBIC model to close skill gaps.
• Lead or back-up facilitator for Daily Stand-Ups and team huddles.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports and advise staffing adjustments.
• Resolve severe State and Federal payroll tax notices across jurisdictions.
• Approve complex amended Federal/State returns with audit trails.
• Identify trends and compliance risks; communicate findings with data-driven responses.
• Represent the team in cross-functional meetings with a compliance-first mindset.
