Intuit is seeking a Lead Tax Processor within Payroll Tax Operations to act as the primary technical expert for TP1-TP3, owning complex escalations and driving SOP/KB governance. Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience focusing on complex tax defect resolution and multi-state amendments.
• Lead, senior specialist, or SME with mentoring or training experience.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax regulations including PFML and SDI.
• Advanced writing skills for SOPs and technical documents.
• Ownership of SLAs and proactive workflow resolution.
• 5+ years handling highly sensitive escalations with minimal guidance.
• 4+ years in contact center or back-office operations.
• Comfort with using AI tools to improve team workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary real-time technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff and coach resolution paths.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions using the SBIC model to close skill gaps.
• Lead or support team huddles, QA sessions, and Daily Stand-Up back-up.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing needs to management.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices (IRS/state) across multiple quarters.
• Approve complex amended Federal (941-X, W-2c) and State returns.
• Identify risks/trends and communicate data-driven recommendations.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings with compliance focus.
