Job summary

The Miriam Hospital, part of Brown University Health, is seeking a Patient RegistrationCoordinator to oversee registration staff in the Emergency Department. You will schedule, monitor, and assist to ensure accurate and timely patient registrations, and prepare monthly statistics for department use.

You will orient new admitting staff to the computer system and shift procedures, and act as a resource when the supervisor is absent.

Qualifications

• Leadership skills to coordinate activities with staff and prioritize work.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, third-party insurance information, and standard office applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of Patient Registration Representatives through scheduling and monitoring.
• Prepare monthly statistical reports and assist with physician-admitting procedures as needed.
• Orient new admitting department staff to the computer system and shift procedures.
• Act as a resource in the supervisor's absence.
