Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a patient access registration liaison for evenings (3pm-11:30pm) and every weekend. You will greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, verify eligibility, and obtain regulatory paperwork in a high-volume environment.

You will also handle bed placement, transfers, and admissions while coordinating with scheduling, precertification, and other hospital departments to ensure accurate patient registrations and smooth flow of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Graduate.
• Some College preferred.
• Minimum Experience: 2-4 years in a health care setting with medical terminology and registration/check in experience is required.
• Insurance knowledge preferred.
• Minimum skills/abilities: Ability to multi task.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards.
• Obtains accurate patient information and enters into the Meditech computer system.
• Verifies and updates all demographical information/date of birth-address-maiden name-social security number.
• Verifies and updates all insurance information.
• Acquires signatures and regulatory paperwork as required.
• Prints appropriate paperwork and escorts patient to location.
• Answers phones and supports scheduling and precertification activities.
• Performs transfers/activations and bed placement as needed.
• Ensures confidentiality and adheres to policies and procedures.
