Hilton Lead Pastry Cook - Canopy by Hilton Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Canopy by Hilton Sioux Falls is seeking a creative and innovative Lead Pastry Cook to support the hotel’s culinary offerings. A Pastry Cook is responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production and quality control of all bread, pastry, and dessert items.

Canopy by Hilton Sioux Falls Downtown (https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/fsdlapy-canopy-sioux-falls-downtown/) is nestled in The Steel District, adjacent to historic Falls Park and overlooking the Big Sioux River. Our hotel offers guests a unique experience with thoughtfully designed rooms, artisanal breakfast, and evening tastings. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and amenities to our guests.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years pastry experience within a high volume kitchen/bakery working with cakes, breads, and various pastries.
  • Weekend availability and ability to varied shifts as needed is a must. Previous hotel or resort experience is a plus!
  • Be responsible for ensuring high-quality production.

What will I be doing?

  • Participates in pastry production.
  • Creates/prepares/produces/bakes breads, rolls, breakfast pastries and desserts according to standard recipes for restaurants and banquets.
  • Decorates pastries/cakes with creativity and skill.
  • Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Trains, supervises, schedules and assists in evaluating staff.
