Job summary

Cox Fleet, a nationwide leader in on-site mobile maintenance for trucks and trailers, seeks a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in a mobile field setting.

The role emphasizes mentoring, customer interaction, and coordinating with the Mobile Technician Manager to guide technicians and ensure timely, safe repairs. A valid DOT card, ASE certs, and tool readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 7 years’ related experience, or equivalent combination.
• ASE certifications required or to be obtained within 18 months (T8 PMI, 608/609, C1).
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance knowledge and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brakes, cooling, diesel systems, and engine components.
• Accurately document work orders using TRAIT on an iOS device and upload RO photos.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist Mobile Tech Manager with quality control inspections.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain company service truck and safety checks.
