Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and complex repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will mentor junior techs, communicate with customers, and manage a service truck and parts inventory.

The role requires ASE certifications within 18 months, a valid DOT medical card, and a clean driving record. This position emphasizes leadership on jobsites and strong safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant mechanical experience or equivalent combination.
• A proven track record in diesel maintenance and DOT-related work is preferred.
• Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI), ASE 608/609, and ASE C1 within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on mobile/field vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, diesel systems and hydraulics.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
• Mentor and supervise junior technicians and communicate with management.
• Maintain service truck and inventory; document findings via RO in TRAIT app.
