Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Lead Mobile Diesel Technician to perform PMs, DOT inspections, and advanced repairs on a mobile fleet. You will lead on-site efforts, mentor technicians, and coordinate with the Mobile Technician Manager to ensure timely, safe maintenance across routes.

The role requires ASE certifications and a strong background in diagnostics, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with DOT compliance and safety at the forefront. This position offers competitive pay and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum HS diploma/GED with 7 years' experience, or equivalent combination with industry certs and years experience.
• Must obtain ASE T8, 608/609, and C1 certifications within 18 months.
• Valid DOT regulations/compliance and DOT medical card requirements.
• Reliable set of hand tools and ability to manage parts inventory.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Test and road-test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain service truck and conduct pre-/post-trip safety inspections.
• Document findings in RO and communicate with management.
