Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc., part of Mass General Brigham, seeks a Lead Medical Assistant to provide leadership for MA staff across the site, supervise clinical operations, and serve as a resource to the Practice Manager and Medical Director.

You will train and mentor MAs, coordinate patient flow, assist with complex procedures, ensure HIPAA compliance, and help maintain high-quality, efficient patient care at 60 Fenwood Road.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification preferred.
• 3–5 years experience as a medical assistant.
• Proficient in EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists in complex office-based procedures and provides clinical oversight for quality control programs.
• Provide leadership to the medical assisting team, including training, mentoring, and performance guidance.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper workload distribution and effective utilization of resources.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
• Coordinate patient flow, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of care.
• Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, vital signs, and preparing patients for examination.
• Participates in the interview process for new MAs and serves as a preceptor for new hires or students, supervising clinic support staff and creating coverage schedules for the MA team.
• Assists with competency assessment for other MAs and provides input on performance evaluations.
