Job summary

X Energy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems, structures, and components for nuclear products and facilities. You will evaluate concepts, perform analyses, and guide designs from concept through prototyping and commissioning in a safety-critical environment.

You will collaborate with systems engineers, support CFD and heat transfer analyses, document design basis and verification plans, and ensure compliance with quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency with engineering hand calculations.
• Experience in CFD analysis (STAR-CCM+, Fluent) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts and design SSCs for nuclear products with a focus on safety.
• Coordinate requirements, interfaces, and design criteria with stakeholders.
• Plan and perform analyses to verify SSCs meet specs and design requirements.
• Perform hand calculations and CFD/thermal/hydraulic analyses as directed.
• Contribute to CFD model development and verification for licensing basis.
