RTX’s Hardware Engineering, Air Launched Effectors Department in Tucson, AZ seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and development of components and subsystems for missile systems. You will mentor engineers and collaborate across disciplines to resolve technical challenges and meet project milestones.

The role requires strong technical writing and communication, with experience in GD&T and 3D modeling (CREO). Onsite work in Tucson with potential travel to suppliers and customer sites.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with extensive relevant experience, or an advanced degree with several years of experience.
• Experience with GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5) and tolerance analysis.
• Proficiency in CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software; familiarity with Windchill is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and sub-assemblies for missile systems.
• Lead mechanical engineering teams and collaborate with multiple disciplines.
• Support factory and suppliers with product development, obsolescence, troubleshooting, domestically and internationally.
• Interface with engineering disciplines, non-technical teams, and suppliers to develop design solutions.
• Work with limited supervision to meet schedule, cost, and technical goals.
• Participate in design peer reviews and conduct trade studies.
