Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II - ALE in Tucson, AZ, onsite, to design, develop and document components for tactical missile systems. You will support factory and suppliers, interface across engineering disciplines, and contribute to design reviews and trade studies, under limited supervision.

The role requires a university degree or equivalent, 2+ years of relevant experience, GD&T proficiency, CREO or similar 3D CAD, and may involve domestic/international travel.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience, or an advanced degree.
• Experience in mechanical design and design documentation.
• Experience with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5.
• Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and sub-assemblies for tactical missile systems.
• Support factory and suppliers with product development, obsolescence, troubleshooting, domestically and internationally.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
• Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for schedule, financial, and technical goals.
• Support and participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
• Support technical data package updates and/or variances.
• Working knowledge of First Article Inspection process (FAI), work alongside Quality engineers in support of that and RSI.
• Utilize Raytheon hardware tools and processes.
