Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of CDU platforms for the data center portfolio. You will guide projects from concept through manufacturing, applying advanced thermal management and structural design expertise.

You will work with cross-functional teams across CFD/FEA, electrical, and controls to deliver durable, cost-effective solutions while meeting industry standards and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; 10+ years industrial mechanical design.
• Experience through full product lifecycle from concept to commercialization.
• Deep ASME piping and US data center/industrial standards knowledge.
• HVAC/industrial equipment or manufacturing environment experience.
• Experience with pumps, piping, valves, skidded products, and metal enclosures.
• Proficiency in CAD software (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor) and GD&T.
• Knowledge of manufacturability, serviceability, tolerance analysis, and PLM/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical architecture for new CDU platforms and other thermal solutions.
• Establish CAD standards, BOM conventions, and design-review practices.
• Lead the mechanical design effort from concept through release to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with CFD/FEA, electrical, controls, and systems teams.
• Work with test personnel to validate products and ensure quality.
