Trane Supply, part of Trane Technologies, seeks a Senior Thermal Engineer to lead water-cooled data center thermal design from concept through testing and deployment. You will perform 1D flow-network modeling and 3D CFD analyses to optimize CDU skids and cooling loops, collaborating with global teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability.

Required are advanced degrees in engineering and 5+ years in HVAC design for industrial/data-center environments, with strong skills in

Qualificações

• Master or PhD degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and/or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with designing and calculating HVAC systems in industrial buildings and/or data centers.
• HVAC/ Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration certificate is considered an asset.
• Ability to perform air flow, thermal flow, and temperature calculations.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct conceptual designs of thermal solutions for data centers, specifically with water cooling.
• Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and partners to plan, test fixtures and prototypes.
• Design documentation such as P&ID.
• Develop testing procedures and controls equipment for product evaluation.
• Perform 1D flow-network modeling and 3D CFD simulations on heat transfer, energy balance, and pressure drop for CDUs and cooling loops.
• Evaluate and optimize subsystem- and system-level thermal performance.
