Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Turbine Airfoil Casting Team. You will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure quality and timely delivery of airfoil castings that power our engines.

Responsibilities include reviewing tooling qualification packages, implementing defect analysis and process improvements, mentoring engineers, and presenting program status to management. Travel up to 10% may be required. onsite role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields (ME/AE).
• 8+ years engineering experience or advanced degree with 5+ years experience.
• 2+ years in development/production hardware support for gas turbine components.
• 2+ years GD&T experience per ASME Y14.5M-1994.

Responsabilités

• Review and disposition airfoil casting tooling qualification packages per AS 9100/PW-QA 6078.
• Lead cross-functional teams to investigate root causes and implement improvements.
• Develop and implement defect assessment and Right-size Analysis using risk-based decisions.
• Manage time-sensitive quality issues to support engine delivery schedules.
• Prepare Class II engineering change packages to improve quality, cost, and producibility.
• Mentor team members to develop delegate approvers for turbine airfoils.
• Present program status to management and stakeholders.
• Travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.
