Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT, seeks a Principal Design Engineer to join the Commercial Fan Blade Design Team. You will provide production and engineering support for fan blade airfoils, lead corrective actions, and collaborate across operations, quality, procurement, and suppliers to resolve issues.

You will develop expertise toward SME responsibilities and present recommendations to leadership. Growth toward Subject Matter Expert and Delegate Approver roles is expected, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 5+ years).
• Experience in design, manufacturing or technical problem-solving activities.
• Experience with MRB, aero components and supplier interactions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead corrective-action activities, QNs, Class II engineering changes, and producibility improvements.
• Identify and eliminate waste and defects through root-cause analysis and risk-based decisions.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, procurement, suppliers, and SMEs to resolve issues and close investigations.
• Develop expertise in fan blade airfoils and progress toward SME/Delegate Approver roles.
• Present technical recommendations and program status to management, documenting learnings.
