Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for the HSE ESTO Airfoils in Asheville, NC. You will provide senior technical leadership for airfoil production support, drive corrective actions, engineering changes, producibility improvements, and cost reductions while mentoring both onsite and outsourced design teams.

You will also lead cross-functional teams, manage CIPTs, and guide technical decisions through risk-based analyses.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering or related field with 8 years of relevant engineering experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mechanical/design engineering, production support, corrective action, and technical problem solving preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead corrective action, Quality Notifications (QN), Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and producibility initiatives to improve quality, cost, and production.
• Develop and approve Class II engineering changes using Pro-Cert and risk-based analyses.
• Serve as SME and CIPT Delegate Approver for assigned airfoil families and engine hardware; mentor onsite and outsource teams.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve root causes, investigations, and MRP-related requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship by guiding outsource design quality and presenting recommendations to CIPTs/HSE-ESTO/Program Management.
