Job summary

KETTLER is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician for the Fields of Old Town in Alexandria, VA. You will oversee general maintenance, repairs across apartments and buildings, and ensure curb appeal and quality of homes for residents.

The role requires 3+ years of apartment maintenance, EPA/CFC certification, and strong HVAC, electrical, and plumbing skills. On-call duties and a valid driver’s license are required, with a compensation range of $28.00–$29.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of apartment maintenance experience.
• EPA/CFC Certification required.
• Mastery of appliance, electrical and plumbing repair.
• Strong understanding of HVAC repair.
• Valid Driver’s License; live within 30 minutes of the property.
• Excellent English communication skills, verbal and written.
• On-call maintenance duties may include nights/weekends on a rotation.
• Must have reliable transportation to respond to on-call emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Participating in all maintenance projects.
• Performing general repair of property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors.
• Supporting the Maintenance Manager with budgets and other administrative tasks.
• Responding to resident maintenance requests across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair; troubleshoot and repair as needed.
• Preventive maintenance on all systems at the property.
• Complete make-ready process for vacant units, including inspections and coordinating vendors.
• Demonstrate strong customer service, respond to questions and handle complaints with urgency.
