Job summary

KETTLER is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Assistant at Tysons Crossing in Vienna, Virginia. The role focuses on responding to maintenance requests across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances, with opportunities to participate in ongoing projects and turnover work.

You'll support preventive maintenance, assist in preparing units for market readiness, and handle on-call duties with a reliable vehicle and a good phone. Good English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• EPA/CFC Type I & II certification preferred; must obtain within 180 days from hire.
• Some basic knowledge of appliance, electrical, and plumbing repair.
• Valid driver’s license and residence within 30 minutes of the property.
• Excellent customer service with timely and accurate responses.
• Responsible for taking calls for after-hours emergencies; nights/weekends on rotation.
• Personal transportation and cell phone required for on-call duties.
• Ability to use a computer; good English communication (verbal & written).
• Physical work including walking, stairs, lifting up to 60 lbs, and ladder work.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple residential service requests daily.
• Respond to resident requests for maintenance and service in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repair; troubleshoot and repair or escalate as needed.
• Participate in all maintenance projects.
• Prepare vacant units for market-ready status through turnover repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all property systems.
• Repair property grounds, apartments, and building exteriors as required.
• Demonstrate strong customer service by treating residents with respect and addressing questions promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
