Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Supervisor to ensure all facility equipment runs efficiently and to improve maintenance practices. You will diagnose problems, supervise staff, manage preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school or GED is preferred.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective action by checking blueprints, schematics, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
• Perform basic welding to repair facilities and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and related control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production assets.
• Follow manuals and specs using a documented schedule.
• Monitor and adjust boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment systems.
• Manage and assign equipment maintenance and after-hours repairs.
• Oversee all shifts in the maintenance department.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance within maintenance.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout procedures where appropriate.
• Coordinate training and development of maintenance staff.
