Job summary

The Ohio Department of Youth Services in Massillon is seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 to perform skilled facility maintenance and lead youth workers in semi-skilled and skilled repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, and equipment maintenance.

This full-time role emphasizes preventive maintenance, safety, and reliable operations, with weekend hours possible and a focus on supporting youth services and facilities integrity.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic including addition and subtraction and in reading, writing and speaking common English vocabulary.
• 12 months training or 12 months of experience in maintenance repair (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry).
• Valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is regulated.

Responsibilities

• Carpentry and masonry repairs on doors, cabinets, floors, walls and windows.
• Plumbing work on water/steam lines, fixtures and pumps and related systems.
• Operate machine tools and welding equipment for metal parts repairs.
• Inspect buildings and equipment for repairs and perform preventive maintenance.
• Work daytime hours with possible weekend hours.
